Brian is a Founder and Managing Partner at Cypress Capital Group. He is an investor and partner in several Northwest-based businesses, primarily in manufacturing and distribution.

​Previously, Brian served as President and CEO of North Star Petroleum, which owns Delta Western — the largest fuel and lubricant distributor in Alaska — along with Northern Oilfield Services in Deadhorse, AK, and Hawaii Petroleum, the leading fuel distributor and convenience store operator on the islands of Maui and Hawaii. North Star is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saltchuk, a diversified holding company and the largest privately held company in Washington State. Brian spent 20 years at Saltchuk in various leadership roles, including as Vice President and Treasurer.

Following his tenure at Saltchuk, Brian was Managing Director in the Private Capital Group at Cascadia Capital. His earlier career included roles as Vice President, Corporate Finance at Dain Bosworth, Inc.; Director, Corporate Finance at The Commerce Bank of Washington; and Vice President, Corporate Finance Group at Security Pacific Bank/Rainier Bank.

​Brian is actively involved in the community and previously served as President of the Board of Directors for the Chief Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America and as President of the Northwest Forum, a network of Pacific Northwest business leaders. He has also held board positions with A Contemporary Theatre, Northwest Chinook Recovery, the Washington Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Long Live the Kings. Brian served as an elected Council Member for the town of Woodway for several years and was a candidate for Washington State Governor in 2024.

​In addition to his community involvement, Brian has served on the Board of Directors for Navios, a leading global shipping company, and currently sits on the boards of the companies he has invested in, including Oregon Equipment Sales, SWS, Markey Machine, and Greer Tank.

​Brian earned his degree from the University of Washington and attended the Albers Graduate School of Business at Seattle University. He is also a graduate of the Senior Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (2005).
An Eagle Scout and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to the Boy Scouts of America, Brian enjoys golfing, fishing, and hunting in his free time.

​He and his wife have three children: Danny, a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps; Lucy, a senior at the University of Oregon; and Shelby, a sophomore at Oregon State University.
